Hideaway Beach Golf Course
What is it that makes golf such an attractive pursuit? Perhaps the simple challenge posed by the game itself? Or the chance to regale the stories that emerge from the endeavor? But there is no denying that the peace and tranquility enjoyed on a well-manicured and expertly designed golf course is one of the alluring factors.
For residents of Marco Island, the Hideaway Beach Golf Club is one of the best courses in the Collier County area, offering practically everything that makes golf so special. It is a private course, so membership is needed to play, but for those lucky enough to be one, the experience is highly recommended.
The Hideaway Beach Golf Club is the jewel in the crown of the family-orientated Hideaway Beach Club, which offers facilities for all the family and every age, as well as a central social point for the community living in this corner of Marco Island.
What Makes Hideaway Beach So Special?
The Hideaway Beach Golf Course is one of only two on the island itself, but as a 9-hole par-3 executive course that has been designed to the highest standards, it is ideal for residents who may be looking for a ‘quick’ game.
Originally constructed in 1982, the golf course underwent some major redesign and reconstruction in 2005, enhancing what was already considered one of the finest courses of its kind in southwest Florida. Today, its fairways are covered in a lush carpet of Bermuda grass (cert. 419) and are lined in many places with clusters of oak, sable and coconut palm trees. The most striking of all the trees is the grand oak that grows in the middle of the fourth fairway.
The pristinely manicured greens on the Hideaway Beach Golf Course are covered in another type of Bermuda grass, known as Tifeagle, which offers an extra-special surface for smooth finishing. Meanwhile several lakes ensures a refreshing coolness remains in the air as players meander their way around the golf course.
Living Near Your Golfing Hideaway
But it is not just the quality of the fairways and putting action on the greens that make Hideaway Beach Golf Course so popular amongst golfers. It is also the quality of living that it offers to members, and the chance to live practically next door.
The northwestern corner of Marco Island is arguably the most beautiful area of the entire island, partly because of the nature reserve along Royal Marco Way, and the lush wooded area along Waterside Drive, which divides the golf course and a serene 2-mile stretch of white sand beach.
These properties can range in price from multi-million dollar luxury beachfront homes to 2-bedroom condos with stunning Gulf of Mexico views for around $500,000, with some of these properties entitling the owner to membership of the Hideaway Beach Golf Course, just a short distance away. The Hideaway Beach Club even has luxury condos on the golf course itself, along Wild Coffee Lane.
Blending your passion for golf and the joy of living in one of the most spectacular areas of Marco Island is no hard task, thanks to Hideaway Beach. For more details about the course and club facilities, check out the Hideaway Beach Club’s website.
