The region recently improved its graduation rate to an impressive 91.9 % and also places a strong emphasis on STEAM programs and competitions. Naples offers a plethora of public schools as well as charter and private schools that will inspire confidence in the most particular parent. While each school has their positive and negative attributes, the school ratings and teacher quality ratings are quite respectable. If you're considering buying a home in Naples, Florida, you can be sure that the schools will satisfy you and your kids.

Naples High Schools

Lorenzo Walker Technical School

Lorenzo Walker features just under 600 students with a 21:1 student to teacher ratio. It was named a 2018 Blue Ribbon school, a privilege only just over 300 schools receive in the United States. As you would suspect, Lorenzo Walker has a strong emphasis on technology and STEAM studies. The school’s small class sizes help its students excel from the close teacher and student interaction. The Advanced Placement program at Lorenzo is very successful as well.

Barron Collier High School

Barron Collier is a much larger secondary school than Lorenzo Walker. It has 1,699 students and a student to teacher ratio of 21:1. It scored very high in college readiness and is known for its great band and successful football team who went to the district championship in 2018. In addition to an active sports program, Barron Collier has a long list of clubs and after-school activities including (but not limited to): Academic Challenge, debate, drama, gaming, International culture, JROTC, and robotics.

Gulf Coast High School

Gulf Coast High is much larger still with 2,278 students and a 20:1 teacher/student ratio. The school focuses on college and career readiness. Parents recommend Gulf Coast High School and reviews from students are among the highest. Being such a large school also offers the benefit of a broader array of electives and clubs. The clubs include but aren’t limited to: chess, young authors’ society, rotary club, mock trial, 3-D printing club, Mu Alpha Theta, Girls Who Code, speech and debate, JROTC, and an astronomy club.

Naples Middle Schools

North Naples Middle School

North Naples is home to 834 students and has a 17:1 student/teacher ratio. The school has a solid 10 in student progress and a 9 in test scores. The parents and students here love the teachers. North Naples has some great after-school programs and events including debate, science fair, honors band and chorus, academic World quest, track and field, basketball, cross country, and soccer.

Pine Ridge Middle School

Pine Ridge actively demonstrates its motto of ‘Go for the Gold’ in everything it does. Its 443 students get hands-on teaching with the small 13:1 student/teacher ratio. The great administration and teachers go above and beyond to involve parents. The school has an award-winning academic challenge program and many other after-school activities and sports including basketball, football, volleyball, track, Golden News student-run online news site, and an art honors society. Both the volleyball and football teams are district champions.

Gulfview Middle School

Gulfview has 1,174 students and 18:1 teacher/student ratio. The high scores in student progress are due to the small class sizes. Gulfview also has a lot of success making sure low-income and students of other national origins keep up with the rest of the class. In addition to its intramural sports, Gulfview features track and volleyball as competitive sports. It also fosters community and dialogue through its We Dine Together club.

Naples Elementary Schools

Seagate Elementary School

Seagate has just 733 students and a 15:1 teacher/student ratio. On Great Schools, it was featured with a 10/10 score. This Naples elementary school won a 2018 Blue Ribbon. Seagate has success with low-income students and those of diverse backgrounds. The teachers here are phenomenal and go above and beyond, even compared to private schools in some cases. The school fosters active learning and a great community with its many events including book fair and fall family fitness night.

Pelican Marsh Elementary School

Pelican Marsh is another of Naples’ 10/10 schools with just 756 students and a 15:1 student/teacher ratio. The classrooms here foster creative and interactive learning rather than just sitting at a desk and listening to a lecture all day. Some of the teachers encourage ‘choose your own seating’ as an option. Some of their events include Laws of Life and field day.

Laurel Oak Elementary School

Laurel Oak is more significant for an elementary school at 937 students but just 16 students for every teacher. The staff here are known for how helpful they are and their efforts to involve the parents with many workshops. Laurel Oak also participates in many events and programs including 5K, monthly McDonalds nights, Dolphin club, and Kindness club.

Mason Classical Academy

Mason Classical Academy is for school years K-12 with 850 students and is tuition-free! The school challenges its students while teaching them to build strong character, respect, and morals. They focus on keeping the parents in the loop with weekly newsletters. Mason Classical Academy fosters learning and creativity in many of its programs and clubs including golf club, creative writing, fencing, Math Counts, and mock trial.

Gulf Coast Charter Academy South

Gulf Coast is one of the best charter schools in Naples with just 641 students for grades PK-8. Gulf Coast charter focuses its efforts on real-world STEM-based learning in the classroom. The small class sizes help foster success and learning in the classroom. The school has a thriving global outreach program and a study-abroad program. In addition to great selection in electives, The Community School also has a vast array of sports even including lacrosse and sailing. 

St. Ann School

Located in the heart of Old Naples, St. Anne is a private, Catholic school for grades PK-8 with just 270 students and a 13:1 student/teacher ratio. Small class sizes in addition to experienced and personal teachers help aid in an environment which pushes students above and beyond. St. Ann has a successful sports program, being 2018 champions in volleyball, cross country, basketball and girls’ soccer.
