The entire community of Village Walk is a mix of single-family homes and villas. The villas are range from 1,540 to 1,600 square feet. These two-bedroom, two-bathroom villas were built in the late 1990’s. Each unit has an attached, two-car garage.
Single-family homes range in size from about 1,900 square feet to 3,200 square feet. Most have three bedrooms, but some of the larger homes have four.
Village Walk has a five-star rating as a retirement community, but that does not mean that nothing is going on. A typical week of organized social activity includes water aerobics, bocce, yoga, Mah Jongg and card games including poker, canasta, and the epitome of all games, bridge.
Village Walk even has a Town Hall. Its Clock Tower and Moorish architecture are the first things that catch your eyes after entering the gates. In addition to the Town Manager’s office, there are facilities for social gatherings and recreation. Residents may rent the facilities for private events. Village Walk’s Post Office is located in the Town Hall.
The Tennis Center is in a separate building and is open from 8:00 a.m. through 10:00 p.m. daily, permitting plenty of access to the six lighted Har-Tru tennis courts. Two Bocce Courts are available for residential use during the daylight hours. Covered seating areas help to protect against the heat of the Southwest Florida sun. Village Walk even has a community Library.
Three different pools are available for residents. The large resort-style pool features a large deck area. A covered patio sits between this and the second pool, which is unofficially known as “The Middle Pool,” because it is. The third is a screened lap pool located at the east end of the Town Hall. Its generously-sized deck provides more than enough room for everyone to have a relaxing time.
L’Osteria is open for lunch Tuesday through Friday and for dinner Tuesday through Saturday. The lunch menu offers classics from Caesar Salad to Reuben sandwiches. Evening fare includes fish, chicken and pork entrees for the discriminating palate.
Vanderbilt Beach, one of the best in North America, is almost exactly five miles to the west of Village Walk. Take a left at the gates and follow Vanderbilt Road all the way. School age children attend with Vineyards Elementary, North Naples Middle School, or Barron Collier High School. For residents who want to take in an occasional round of golf, there are scores of courses in and around the Naples area. Shopping is so accessible that even a man would be able to stumble across some of the finest shopping venues in the entire state of Florida without trying. Still, one of the best benefits of living at Village Walk is being able to take a walk through the Village.
